THE HISTORY
Since 2009, the Global Eye Programme has been a leading international platform for contemporary Asian art. It began with Korean Eye at London’s Saatchi Gallery and went on to deliver 23 major museum-scale exhibitions worldwide, attracting over two million visitors and establishing a sustained global presence for the artists and institutions involved.
Alongside exhibitions, the Programme launched publications, art fairs, and strategic collaborations, supporting artists at pivotal moments in their careers. A defining chapter was the Prudential Eye Awards (2014–2016) in Singapore, which celebrated artists from Greater Asia across eleven categories, awarding over USD 400,000 and providing international recognition that helped position the city as a leading art destination.
Building on this decade-long legacy, the RAFAA Art Awards will launch in Abu Dhabi, marking a bold new chapter. The RAFAA's expands the Programme’s vision from a regional focus to a global benchmark for contemporary art, positioning Abu Dhabi as a thriving hub for artistic excellence.
The RAFAA's is the natural evolution of the Global Eye Programme, drawing on years of institutional experience, international networks, and curatorial expertise to celebrate and support the next generation of artists worldwide.
